Thanks for checking out my writing blog! You can think of this as a collection of sorts, as this website will contain most of the work I’ve ever written. I started writing in middle school, and one of the first writing lessons I can recall came from an English teacher of mine who told me that I had better love writing, because there’s no money to be made doing it. It’s true: writing (and storytelling, by extension) is too fundamental to ever be a real living for most of humanity. It is quite literally priceless, and too easily exploited.
I don’t think my teacher meant for me to take the lesson to heart so completely, but I did. I thought long and hard about writing, and agonized over it, and lost sleep over it. Ultimately I came to understand that there are some things in life that must be done without benefit, without reward. Art is often one of those things. I knew that no matter what, one constant would remain for me: I would never stop writing.
I make no claims as to the quality, but I can certainly attest to the quantity. I can promise that there is enough of my work to occupy yourself with, should you choose to do so. It may take a while to arrive, and you may not like all of my writing, or even most of it. I’m fine with that. My only hope is that you, dear reader, can walk away with a feeling. If I can challenge or skew your perspective of something, then it’s all worth it. If I can summon up nostalgia or convey heartbreak, then my time is well spent.
I hope you stay to read a while, and share this page with others. Thank you for stopping by.
